Staying motivated is essential for success, here’s my top 10 tips on how to get yourself motivated.
1. Set a Daily Goal
Just set ONE goal per day, with a details written out, for example:
|(i) Write a new article||Determine the content, amount of words|
|(ii) Create images||Source for images and edit the picture using an image editor|
|(iii) Edit an existing post||Lenghten the article, add meat to it, add images, improve its look, find links to add to|
|(iv) Give/reply to comments|
Have you had outstanding comments that are waiting for an answer? Reply to all unanswered comments
Lack of comments on your site? Give out new comments and receive some in return
|(v) Help out somebody||Answer queries in your inbox, through live chat, or in others’ blogs, do what you can to help out|
When you have achieve you GOAL of the day, anything else you get done will be a bonus!
2. Learn a new related skill
I do this on a weekly basis. Focus on one skill or an area which I think I need to learn or improve, the find out ways to learn it.
Last week I was on a mission to create images and writing articles on that. I played around with different image editors, and created some logos and images for my own use.

3. Plan 3 articles a week
Frequent posting not only contributes to SEO and your ranking, but it keeps our minds focused on the subject matter.
Planning 3 articles a week would ensure that I have at least 3 ideas every week.
Here’s how I find ideas for articles:
(i) Find links from my existing content and create a list, so if I run out of ideas, this resource is always available
(ii) Spark off ideas based on my existing keywords and try to generate new keywords for use in new articles
4. Do research
Research may be boring to some, fun for others, depending on what the topic is about.
To me, looking for suitable images and anything visual is appealing, if I have to go look for technical information and then write it into my post, that bores me to death.
Varying the research would help though, so you can doing both enjoyable and the not-so-enjoyable stuff at the same time.
5. Join an active community of like-minded people
This is very conducive for building up an online business. When you are doing internet marketing, you often find yourself alone as your friends and family may not know what you are doing and could not help.
As an online business entrepreneur, support and help is very important.
When you encounter difficults, you want someone to answer your questions. When you are feeling frustrated, you need encouragement and when you achieve a little success (even if it’s for something as simple as solving some technical issue), you like to broadcast your happiness.
What best to have this than a supportive community who are in the same boat looking for the same things and aiming at the same goals. Be surrounded by like-minded and you will get all the support you need.
7. Keep a notebook at hand and instantly jot down any ideas
We are constantly receiving information left, right and center.
Our brains are now opened to the concepts of an online business and we may constantly get ideas on how to do things better.
Often, these ideas come and go very fast and we could not remember every single one of them. Taking notes is very handy and helps us to get organized too.
6. Build up your own support network
Having a huge community around is not enough, everybody is working at their own goals and their goals might not be the same as yours.
Go a step further and establish your own support group.
8. Work out a routine - find your tempo
This would differ for everybody. You may find yourself waking up early and breathing in fresh air, that sets you in motion for the whole day.
Another person may be a night owl, and work best in the quiet and peaceful night time.
You might want music blasting, or birds chirping, or absolute silence, you have to find your own tempo, the optimum atmosphere to work in.
9. Maintain a healthy body and a healthy mind
There’s no need to elaborate on this one, I think we all know this.

10. Start your day the night before
It’s always good to plan things out, set your goal (from point 1 above), review it the night before, and determine the time needed and the best way to complete it.
When you start the next day, you will have it all mapped out.
