This is a really great guide in writing a good blog post. This reminds me of what Pat Flynn always said: get rid of your edit mode when you are writing. It will only slow you down and make things harder. Just write whatever comes to your mind and edit later.

This coincides with what you’ve said in this post. Thanks for this great post.

What’s your recommended length of a post?

      Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the compliments! A post tends to get ranked higher in google if it’s at least 1,000 words in length, however I understand that for a beginner who is just starting to build up their blog, they may find it difficult to write so many words at one go. I would recommend starting out with 500 words first. Structure the article such that you have a introductory paragraph, then 3 paragraphs for the main body and then a conclusion, with about 100 words each for each of these sections, and you can reach 500 words easily.

Good point you raise here Dennis! When we sort of lose sight of things, I find it useful to go back to the basics. Somehow, that will remind us of our original intention and guide us back to the right direction.

Hello and thanks for sharing, this is a great post on content building. Content building is so important because this is how we are going to catch our visitors attention and keep them coming back along with new visits. Thanks again.

Hi Norman, thanks for this! People love to read, and giving out important and useful information is what attracts visitors to a site. One thing about writing is that, if it comes naturally from your heart, your ideas will flow to your readers. Many times I find myself reading something and nodding my head at the same time, I could totally identify with what the author is trying to say. Do let me know if you have further thoughts on this.
